Paycheck Protection Program: General Information of the PPP loan.

SBA Disaster Assistance Loan: The SBA provides low-interest disaster loans to help businesses and homeowners recover from disasters. The EIDL Loan is to assist businesses with temporary loss of revenue.

MD PUI and PUEC: Pandemic Unemployment Insurance and Pandemic Unemployment Emergency Compensation are run through the Maryland Department of Labor, Division of unemployment insurance.

The federal government renewed PUA benefits for an additional 11 weeks for claimants and a total of 50 weeks. The program was extended from the week ending January 2nd, 2021 through April 10th, 2021.

The federal government renewed PUEC benefits for an additional 11 weeks for claimants and a total of 24 weeks. The program was extended from the week ending January 2nd, 2021 through April 10th, 2021. No new PEUC claims may be filed after March 13th, 2021.

Federal PUC: FPIC is the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation, which provides an additional $300 per week for those who receive unemployment benefits during the weeks ending January 2, 2021, to March 13, 2021.

Mixed Earner Unemployment Compensation Program: This program is payable from January 2nd, 2021 through March 13th, 2021. It provides an additional $100 weekly benefit payment to claimants that are receiving regular UI, PEUC, EB, or Work Sharing benefits. Claimants covered under PUA are not eligible.

Governors Executive Orders: Governor Hogan implemented actions that are pursuant to the recommendations of the CDC and his public-health experts. The latest Executive Order is from November 17th, renewing the State of Emergency. Interpretive guidance on types of businesses that can operate under set guidelines can be found within the site.

SBA Business Survival Guide: The SBA has provided a survival guide for businesses. The guide includes funding information, social media tips, tax credit programs, and much more.

Marylands Roadmap to Recovery: On April 24th, 2020, Governor Hogan announced the Maryland Roadmap to Recovery, outlining the steps to a safe state, and measures that would take place to re-open the state. The Roadmap would assist the Governor in taking action, allowing local jurisdictions to implement the Governor’s plans, or take additional measures.

Maryland Strong: Back to Business Pledge: Businesses are encouraged to sign the Back to Business Pledge. As part of the Roadmap to Recovery, the pledge highlights that the establishment that has signed and places the pledge will play a vital role to slowing the spread, and providing a safe environment for patrons.

Order PPE: The Maryland Manufacturing Network was established with the Maryland Department of Commerce to assist businesses in finding PPE supplies, and suppliers to sell their items. To find or sell PPE, please visit the site.

CDC COVID-19 Response: The CDC’s page highlights important information regarding COVID-19. The site can assist in researching symptoms, vaccines, data, and quarantine information.

ECP Updates

December 15th, 2020

The pandemic has had a heavy impact in our community and our nation. Through the pandemic, the ECP has conducted the following activities:

  1. Funded over $16,000 in Technology and Inventory Grants in June 2020;
  2. Advocated at the state and federal level for funding to support the OEC District;
  3. Held special events safely, including Second Saturdays, Ho-Ho-Holiday Preview, Shop Small Saturday, Merry Main Marketplace, and Midnight Madness;
  4. Applied for federal and local funding to continue assisting the OEC Businesses;
  5. Launched the 2020 Holiday Bucks program with a total of $10,000 into the project;
  6. Launched the second round of assistance grants, totaling $10,000;
  7. Have held over 10 meetings with business owners, continuing to focus on the emphasis of preparation and updates;
  8. Continued focusing our marketing efforts on shopping safely in OEC;
  9. Created a Safe OEC video that highlights the precautions taken by our business owners in their stores;
