Phelps was a remarkable woman who transformed the Patapsco Female Institute into a renowned educational facility.
A prolific author, she became a household name through her writings and as a lecturer. Imagine in the 1850’s
she was encouraging her students, all females, to” think, reflect, compare and examine using your own judgement.
While the COVID-19 Pandemic is ongoing, we will be cautiously restarting our programs at the B & O in Ellicott City.
Groups will be limited to 10 people. Those attending will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
Temperatures will be scanned at the start of the tours to insure everyone’s safety.
Tickets will be refunded for any issues arising.
Reservations are required and no walk ups will be allowed.
