Maryland Artists Chris Rapa and Jing-Jy Chen approach their work from very different points of origin, technically and aesthetically. Chris, employs various media to paint landscapes, still life, and interior vignettes, incorporating experiences, impressions and objects from nature.
Jing-Jy, working in watercolor and inks, draws on her cultural background, personal experiences, and traditional painting techniques to express the connection and calm she finds in nature. Together, in “Eastern Tradition – Western Perception,” Chris and Jing-Jy cross the boundaries of style and convention to celebrate the simplicity, complexity, and universality of the natural world.
