The 18th Amendment was driven by the dramatic increase in alcohol consumption with the availability of hard liquor in the 19th Century. Learn about the efforts of the Anti-Saloon League to ban alcohol consumption in Howard County and other parts of Maryland, with local efforts led by former First Presbyterian minister Reverend Henry Branch..

*Free parking is available in the Court House Drive lot, located up the hill at the top of Old Ellicott City, in walking distance from the Museums and former Circuit Court.
