The wait is over - Wine Tasting Classes at the Bin are back!
Join our wine expert, Nick on select Tuesday evenings for a chance to expand your wine horizons. Fine tune your palette and your vino vocabulary, discover new favorites and have fun with Bin friends while celebrating our favorite beverage. Each class will taste through three to five wines.
These casual and intimate classes are held from 7:00 to 8:00 pm and welcome up to 15 wine drinkers.
Episode 1: Wine 101. • OCTOBER 21 7PM
From how to properly taste New and Old World wines, to learning the different grapes and wine making practices, to tackling the sometimes intimidating wine description vocabulary, you’ll finish this class smarter than you started. This is a fun crash course in how to drink and speak wine.
Episode 2: Bubbly Basics • NOVEMBER 14 7PM
Just opening a good bottle of sparkling wine is a reason to celebrate. In this beginner-friendly class on Champagne, Cava and Sparkling Wine we’ll cover a wide variety of regions and example of sparklers, from France, Italy, Spain, and the New World. You’ll learn how they are made, served, paired with food, and why you should be drinking it for every occasion!
Episode 3: Break Your Norms! Alternatives to Common Styles • NOVEMBER 28 7PM
You’re not imagining it, there is an endless variety of tastes in the wine world. With a little extra knowledge and some adventurous tasting, we think you may fall in love with some of the not-so-mainstream options out there. In this class, we will explore unconventional wines by region, grape, and style. Expect to leave with some new favorites and a new willingness to try something new.
Episode 4: Calling All ABCs! A Course on Chardonnay • DECEMBER 5 7PM
People have a love-hate relationship with Chardonnay. We think given the chance, there’s a Chardonnay for everyone. From France to California and beyond, we will taste through a wide variety of beautiful styles and manipulations of this well known grape. You’ll learn how and why they taste different, and how to love this prolific and wonderful varietal.
Episode 5: Que Syrah Syrah! • DECEMBER 19 7PM
From the classics to new interpretations, this episode explores the widely planted and interpreted Syrah grape. We’ll provide a bit of historical context and discuss the importance of “terroir” (a.k.a. environmental factors) and various wine-making practices. It is a chance to sample and discuss Syrah’s many styles AND inspire a new appreciation for this fantastic red.
