SPRINGFEST
Celebrate Spring with the musicians, artists and happy people of OEC
Start counting the days!
SpringFest 2023 brings the promise of spring, live music, great family fun and a day you don’t want to miss.
Old Ellicott City will rock from two outdoor stages. At the Main Stage in Lot D behind the Welcome Center, featuring Smackmaster, Soul Island Rebels and headliner, Foreplay. On Upper Main find the Wine Bin Stage full of local favorites including headliner, Mallow Hill. Between sets at both stages, hear tomorrow’s rockers and singer songwriters from Soundcheck Rock Academy.
At the B&O Plaza on lower Main, explore the Artists’ Village where you can meet and see local artists demonstrating their craft along with a pop-up gallery full of one-of-a-kind treasures. There’s even a Mendhi Henna artist waiting to give you a henna tattoo! Let the kids get creative with Spring and nature inspired free crafts and activities (while supplies last) near the Wine Bin Stage at the Log Cabin and on the Courtyards side of Lot D. Get painted by our favorite face painters there too. The Artists’ Village and kids’ fun happen from noon to 5 pm.
Expect great local craft brews from Manor Hill and Jailbreak Brewing plus pours from Kysela Pere Et Fils wines. In Lot D, Cocktails from OEC original, Ellicott Distilling Co. and our friends from Sobar will be offering their non-alcoholic handcrafted mocktails.
Food options abound with food trucks and OEC’s full time eateries. Take home a souvenir of the day from the 17 artisan vendors in Lot D, 40+ OEC boutiques throughout town, or the latest OEC swag from Ellicott City Partnership near the ticket tents. Your swag purchase helps us bring you future awesome events.
There’s free parking and free shuttle service from outer parking lots starting at noon and running through 8:30 pm, or make life easy and Uber or Lyft your way to our established stops just off Main Street.

JAILBREAK BREWING CO.
Special Thanks to Jailbreak Brewing Company for being a long time SpringFest sponsor.
Jailbreak was created as a freedom of expression and constructed to be a transcendent experience. Since 2013, we’ve continued to artfully layer upon both the beer and the culinary experience to provide a welcoming departure from the monotony of the norm.
After working years in the tech/government contracting world, our founders, Kasey and Justin, decided they wanted to leave their desk jobs in pursuit of something more creative. On a whim, they decided to attend a local craft brewery conference held in DC; little did they know how much their lives were going to change. “We saw nothing but happy folks doing their jobs in the breweries and we wanted that.” They started homebrewing in Justin’s backyard, perfecting recipes while searching for space to build a brewery. What started out as a side hustle quickly turned into a full time commitment. The brewery’s name is attributed to Justin and Kasey “breaking out” from the nine-to-five grind. And, since they’re from the tech world, it plays nicely into the whole “jailbreaking” thing, too.
BEERS FEATURED FOR SPRINGFEST

Special Lady Friend IPA 7% ABV
Special Lady Friend is very special indeed, an all Mosaic hazy IPA which results from the culmination of experience gained through the last year or so of thoughtful experimentation with varied yeasts, hops, and procedural techniques.

feed the monkey - Hefeweizen 6% ABV
A German style Hefeweizen that combines traditional notes of clove and banana with subtle citrus aromas and flavors. With this Hefeweizen, there's no fruit required.

Irish Red - Red Ale - 4.5% ABV
Copper in color with off-white foam, Maris Otter English malt provides malt flavors and aromas of Graham cracker and freshly baked bread, hop flavors and aromas of herbs de Provence, and clean, balanced bitterness from Hersbrucker and Challenger hop additions.
WINES from KYSELA PERE ET FILS, LTD.

Rubus Vin Gris 2021
Pale pink rose color with salmon hues. Delicate strawberry nose, savory berries and cherries, and a touch of dried herbs and minerality.

2021 John's Bay Sauvignon Blanc
"A little mango, maybe pineapple squirted with a bit of lime — you could enjoy an evening divining the flavors in this supple, ripe sauvignon blanc. It’s neither aggressively grassy nor earthbound minerally. It’s like “Wordle” — which five flavors can you taste? In other words, diverting and fun. And yummy

Finca del Castillo Tempranillo
100% Tempranillo
This pretty little red has a flavor reminiscent of good Cotes du Rhone. Medium bodied, flavorful; hints of raspberry and strawberry. Shows best with picnic fare and grilled meats. Perfect summer red.
Cocktails from Ellicott Distilling Co.
Drink options will be:
Vodka Soda
Gin and Tonic
Rum and Coke

MANOR HILL BREWING
Special Thanks to Manor Hill Brewing for being a long time SpringFest sponsor.
Our brewery is situated on our family’s 54-acre working farm in Ellicott City. Our scenic farm is home to 14 acres of non-GMO corn, approximately 20 egg-laying chickens, several honey bee hives, 2 pygmy goats, and more than 20 free-range Angus cattle. Our garden produces fruits, vegetables, and herbs that are sold (along with our beef) at our on-site seasonal farm stand.
Brewery operations began in June of 2015, making Manor Hill Brewing Howard County’s first farm brewery. Today, we are Maryland’s largest farm brewery by production. Our brewing team uses high quality ingredients to craft exciting and approachable beers across both new and traditional styles. We believe strongly in supporting local and practicing sustainability and work to achieve these values whenever possible.
This years festival features Taylors Row IPA, Initially released as an homage to Manor Hill Tavern when it first opened in the historic “Taylor’s Row” section of Old Ellicott City, it proved too tasty to not revisit. This brew has nearly 30% of the grist bill carved out for malted, flaked and caramel rye grains. Assertively hopped with Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial, and Falconer’s Flight, this deep copper colored American IPA boasts big aromas of grapefruit and pine with a resinous finish.
FEATURED FOR SPRINGFEST

TAYLORS ROW IPA 7.5% ABV
Initially released as an homage to Manor Hill Tavern when it first opened in the historic “Taylor’s Row” section of Old Ellicott City, it proved too tasty to not revisit.

PILSNER 5.3% ABV
Our take on a classic German Pilsner was created using corn grown on our very own farm.

MILD MANOR’D AMBER 5.3% ABV
This was created to bring the world of English Mild Ales together with American Ambers.

RASPBERRY LEMONADE 5.4% ABV
It's as simple and refreshing as it sounds. It all starts with our farm-grown raspberries... and nothing beats a cold raspberry lemonade!
